
Dr. Victor Vazquez-Hernandez currently serves as Professor of History, Social Sciences Department, Miami Dade College-Kendall Campus. He served both as Interim Dean of Academic Affairs and Interim Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Miami Dade College (MDC) Wolfson Campus from September 2014 to August 2015. He was Chair of the Social Sciences Department at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Wolfson Campus from 2011-September 2014. He also holds the rank of Associate Professor, Senior in History, Tenured. He originally joined MDC in 2005 as Assistant Professor of History, and has formerly held faculty and administrative positions at Temple University and Hostos Community College CUNY).
Dr. Vazquez-Hernandez has extensive experience in systems-wide operational management, learning outcomes assessment, strategic planning, institutional advancement, and faculty and student development and retention. He possesses an in-depth understanding of organizational leadership, institutional culture and behavior, human resources management, conflict management, and collective bargaining agreements. Dr. Vazquez-Hernandez is highly experienced in public and media relations, donor cultivation and stewardship, and community affairs in urban settings. He is knowledgeable in diversity issues, and multicultural competency-based learning.
Dr. Vazquez-Hernandez is an excellent bilingual (English-Spanish) communicator with a keen ability for consensus building and effective work-team relations. He deeply enjoys promoting the well-being of society through education, and has a clear understanding of the role that educational policy and advocacy play in the economic development of our communities.
